Mini Restoration
The customer first reached out to us with a brilliant idea: to surprise her husband on his birthday by beginning the restoration of a vehicle full of sentimental value.
We kept our part in the surprise and went out to inspect the vehicle to see the extent of the work that needed doing.
The vehicle was a non-runner with lots of rust eating away at the frame/chassis and covered in saw dust due to its proximity to the table decoration factory established next to it in the garage – ahead of an upcoming family wedding!
There was also a Pokémon ‘poke ball’ gear stick knob which was a topic of real controversy in the household!
We got the vehicle back to our workshop and began restoring it – getting it mechanically sound, cutting the rust and underside before getting it through it’s MOT as per the customers request.
We delivered the vehicle back to a very happy customer and we have truly loved immersing ourselves in the story and getting involved in this project.
The future of the vehicle is also an exciting one with plans to get full enjoyment out of driving it, along with her son potentially looking to learn and carry out some of the restoration work himself to help preserve it for future generations.
We also showed them how to remove the pokeball gear knob before leaving…
